Hey folks,

Well, my Zune is just about 3 years old now. The battery is dead, and while I'd love to replace it, it includes soldering, which I have no idea how to do. On some Zunes, it's simply a plug, so I popped open my Zune to check and nope, the wire goes all the way into the back of the motherboard. I'm screwed there.

The hold switch has also been broken for quite some time and for whatever reason now, it's stuck on lock and despite my opening the Zune and trying the switch every which way, it won't come out of hold. Agh...

Any ideas?

the whole module breaks sometimes (fracture in the ribbon cable), replace the module - it is pretty much plug & play.
