how to backup the music from a hard drive based creative player

the hard drive needs to be connected to a ZIF to Ide adapter. a good cheap alternative is to connect the hard drive to a iPod video board. start photorec. select the drive letter that represents the iPod video (with creative zen drive connected) as source. select PC partition table type and FAT filesystem. choose a destination directory with sufficient space. let it run. the music will show up as ASF files.
