recently, now its working, however it won't recognize the simcard.

look at the contacts of you simcard slot, does anything bent, misaligned that could not be making contact? is the casing cracked, allowing the simcard to move away from the contacts? if not, some electronic components got knocked off the motherboard and and it most likely need replacement. There are blackberry repair guides that show you or a tech savy friend how to do that.
