Hopefully soemone has come across this problem before.

I replaced the screen on my Creative Zen 8Gb recently as it got broken when I sat on it (Doh!). Now the Zen will only turn on if connected via the USB cable to either a PC or the charger. I can disconnect from the lead once it's on, but the screen will then dim a lot.

Once removed from the USB cable the Zen can be turned off using the sliding switch, but cannot be turned back on. This can only be done by re-connecting the USB cable.

This is a rare error. One explanation: it seems as though the new screen (which may have come with a manufacturer defect) put's too much load on the system and keeps it from starting up without charger support. Another : your on-switch is not aligned with the slider, allowing you to turn off, but not to turn on.
