My PSP won't load the OS. When it's turned on, the power light illuminates for a few seconds, then goes out. The screen stays dark and the machine doesn't make any audible sound. I've tried two different batteries and two power supplies. Same action. What needs to be fixed?

This issue can be caused by parts of the shield moving around internally and touching components on the logic board. At this point you have nothing to lose so I would recommend opening it and removing the Aluminum shielding you find under the logic board. If you get the power LCD to blink for a short time, the issue goes beyond a a simple software repair, so opening it is inevitable.
