Acer Aspire One Repair Guide

Before you begin

Read this website's Legal Guidelines and make sure you understand the risks of this repair. Place your Acer Aspire One on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools.

Turn the laptop over and pull out its battery.

Step 3
There are philips head screws that need to be removed.

Step 4
All the philips head screws need to be removed.

Step 5

Some may be hidden in corners so make sure that you get all of them underneath.

This is what the acer aspire one looks like looking down upon the keyboard.

There are clips that are holding the keyboard in that can be released using a flathead screwdriver.

You can use the green tool to push the locking pins off to the side so that the RAM can be released.

There is one latch that is located above teh f2 key.

There is a second latch aboce teh f8 key or the center of the keyboard.

The last latch is located on the right hand side of the keyboard above the pause/break button.

Using the green tool you can now life the keyboard up and out of the palm rest.

Do not lift if up and out all the way since there is a cable that is connecting the keyboard to the logicboard.

You can use the green tool or a flathead to release the keyboard ribbon cable to the logic board.

Go from edge to edge lifting up the latch so the keyboard can be released.

Now the keyboard can be fully removed from the palm rest.

There are screws that are holding the palm rest to the rest of the computer. Make sure all of these are removed.

The screws need to be removed so that you can lift up the palm rest from the laptop.

Here is a look at the palm rest once all the screws are removed.

Right next to where the keyboard latch was there is another smaller latch that needs to be released. This can be done by using a green tool and gently lifting up on the latch.

You can put a piece of tape over the latch to protect it from breaking.

With the green tool remove the rubber piece un the bottom of the laptop.

You can remove it using a green tool and they are held in by double sided tape.

Underneath the rubber is a philips head screw that needs to be removed.

Remove the rubber piece and the philips head screw from the other side.

Remove the screw that you find underneath and do the same on the other side of the compartment.

Now with all the screws removed you can now wedge of the palm rest from the bottom frame.

Use the green tool to create the space between the palm rest and the bottom frame.

The palm rest should come off with ease and it can be completely taken off.

Disconnect the screen ribbon cable using the green tool.

The cable disconnects going towards the front of the laptop.

The next thing that needs to be removed is the antenna cable.

The antenna cable goes over the top of the logic board and connects to the wifi card.

Remove the screw to the left of the wifi board.

Disconnect the black and white antenna cables connected to the wifi card using the green tool.

Remove the wifi board by pulling it to the right away from the connector.
loosen up the antenna cables so they can be removed more easily.

There is a screw that was below the wifi card that needs to be removed.

Now the audio board can be removed.

This can be done by using the green tool.

Flip it over to expose the cable connections that is connected the audio board to the logic board.

Remove the cable connector using a green tool.

The logic board can now be removed from the bottom frame.

Flip the logic board over and you will see the hard drive and the processor.

To remove the hard drive remove this philips head screw.

Also a second screw needs to be removed.

You can now remove the hard drive by pulling it away from the logic board.

Lenovo X61 Repair Guide

Before you begin

Read this website's Legal Guidelines and make sure you understand the risks of this repair. Place your Lenovo X61 on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools

Step 2
Turn the laptop over and pull out its battery.

Step 3

This is what the laptop looks like with the battery removed.

Step 4

This screw needs to be removed to get access to the hard drive.

Step 5

You can then pull out the protective plastic piece over the hard drive using a flat tool to wedge between edge.

Step 6

Now with the plastic piece removed you can now see the hard drive. From here you can just pull it out using the plastic tab in the middle that releases when you pull it down.

Two screws need to be loosened to gain access to the RAM.

You can use the green tool to push the locking pins off to the side so that the RAM can be released.

This screw is necessary to take out in order to remove the keyboard.

You can start seperating the frame of the laptop apart.

Use the green tool and work around the edge of the laptop to create space between the bottom and the top of the frame.

Step 17

You can now lift the top frame from the bottom frame or the palmrest. Make sure you only lift the palm rest a little because you need to detatch the wifi antenna in order to completely seperate the palm rest.

Find where the wifi antenna cables attach the palm rest to the frame.

Use the green tool to detach the wifi antenna cable.

This is the logicboard for the lenevo x61.

Remove the two philips screws that hold in the screen ribbon cable.

Once the two screws are removed you can easily lift up the ribbon cable off of the lenevo x61 logic board.

Unscrew the metal shield that is on top of where the hard drive connected to the lenevo x61 logicboard.

The second screw is located on the other side.

This screw needs to be removed.

This fan connector needs to be lifted off the board. Be careful and use green tool.

Here is a nother connection on the logic board that needs to be removed.

Right next to the connection you just removed there is another connection that needs to be undone.

With all the screws removed you can now lift up the lenevo x61 logicboard out of the frame.

The antenna for wifi need to be disconnected to remove the logicboard.

This is a antenna connector that is glued onto the logicboard that can be removed using the green tool.

HP Laptop Logic Board Replacement

Before you begin

Read this website's Legal Guidelines and make sure you understand the risks of this repair. Place your HP Laptop on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools.

Step 2
The power panel above the keyboard is the first thing that we need to remove. Use the green tool to create some space between the power panel cover and the hinge.

Step 3
Use the green tools on the sides of the power panel cover and release the clips that are holding it in.

Step 4
Here is a good angle of how you can use the edge of the green tool to wedge between the power pane land the laptop. Do this all the way around the power panel until it is able to slightly be lifted from the laptop.

There is a ribbon cable underneath the power panel. This needs to be released using a small flat head screw driver or anything that can easily loosen to the taps on the latch.

This is what the laptop looks like after the power panel is removed.

The keyboard is held in by a ribbon cable that needs to be removed. You can use the green tool to release the latch.

There are some philips head screws that hold the palm rest in place that need to be removed.

Once all the screws are removed you can then use the green tool to release the palm rest by working your way around the edge and releasing the clips holding it in.

This is the cable that connects the screen to the logicboard it needs to be disconnected.

On the other side are the antenna cables that connect to the wifi board that also need to be removed.

Once the Screen cable is disconnected you can then lift it out of the hinge. Be careful not to do the other side since the antenna cables still need to be removed to lift out the other side of the screen.

There are a couple screws that need to be removed in order to get to the wifi board here is one of them.

Remove them carefully. You can use a small flathead screwdriver if you can not get down there all the way.

This is where the antenna calbes go through the logicboard and the palm rest to the other side of the laptop.

Pull the cables up and out from the other side so you can see the tips of the wires.

Remove the wiring from the palm rest and then you can remove the other side of the screen away from the logicboard.

In the center towards the top of the palm rest there is a cable that needs to be removed. You can use the green tool to release it from the connector.

There is another connector that needs to be removed. Use the green tool to release the latch that is holding it in.

The palm rest can now be lifted up and away from the logicboard.

There are some cables that need to be disconnected in order to remove the logicboard from the bottom casing.

Remove the wifi board by pulling it to the right away from the connector.

Once all the cables and screws are removed you can then remove the logicboard out of the bottom casing.
