Before you begin Read this website's Legal Guidelines and make sure you understand the risks of this repair. Place your Lenovo X61 on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools
		Step 2 Turn the laptop over and pull out its battery.
		Step 3 This is what the laptop looks like with the battery removed.
		Step 4 This screw needs to be removed to get access to the hard drive.
		Step 5 You can then pull out the protective plastic piece over the hard drive using a flat tool to wedge between edge.
		Step 6 Now with the plastic piece removed you can now see the hard drive.  From here you can just pull it out using the plastic tab in the middle that releases when you pull it down.
		Step 10 Two screws need to be loosened to gain access to the RAM.
		Step 13 You can use the green tool to push the locking pins off to the side so that the RAM can be released.
		Step 12 This screw is necessary to take out in order to remove the keyboard.
		Step 15 You can start seperating the frame of the laptop apart.
		Step 16 Use the green tool and work around the edge of the laptop to create space between the bottom and the top of the frame.
		Step 17 You can now lift the top frame from the bottom frame or the palmrest. Make sure you only lift the palm rest a little because you need to detatch the wifi antenna in order to completely seperate the palm rest.
		Step 18 Find where the wifi antenna cables attach the palm rest to the frame.
		Step 19 Use the green tool to detach the wifi antenna cable.
		Step 20 This is the logicboard for the lenevo x61.

		Step 22   Remove the two philips screws that hold in the screen ribbon cable.
		Step 23 Once the two screws are removed you can easily lift up the ribbon cable off of the lenevo x61 logic board.
		Step 24 Unscrew the metal shield that is on top of where the hard drive connected to the lenevo x61 logicboard.
		Step 25   The second screw is located on the other side.
		Step 26 This screw needs to be removed.
		Step 27 This fan connector needs to be lifted off the board.  Be careful and use green tool.
		Step 28 Here is a nother connection on the logic board that needs to be removed.
		Step 29 Right next to the connection you just removed there is another connection that needs to be undone.
		Step 30 With all the screws removed you can now lift up the lenevo x61 logicboard out of the frame.
		Step 31 The antenna for wifi need to be disconnected to remove the logicboard.
		Step 32   This is a antenna connector that is glued onto the logicboard that can be removed using the green tool.
		Step 33 This is what the lenevo X61 logic board looks like when is fully removed.
