Read this website's Legal Guidelines and make sure you understand the risks of this repair. Place your Garmin Nuvi on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools
Step 1
Remove the two Torx T5 screws at the bottom of the the device (appearing at the top in the image because the device is displayed upside down).
Step 2
Use the opening tool to pry apart the front and back of the Garmin Nuvi housing.
Step 3
Slide it around the edge.
Step 4
You should now be able to separate front and back.
Step 5
The front should now fold open as shown in the image.
Step 6
Use the opening tool to carefully release the backlight connector latch.
Step 7
Use the opening tool to carefully release the screen connector latch and the touch screen connector latch.
Step 8
Use the opening tool to carefully release the backlight connector latch and the touch screen connector latch.
Step 9
You have successfully removed the front.
Step 10
Remove the screws holding the Garmin Nuvi Logic board in place.
Step 11
One of the screws is covered by shielding foil.
Step 12
You have successfully removed the logic board of your Garmin Nuvi, for reassembly follow the steps in reverse order, using the new replacement logic board.
