The silver colored frame surrounding the screen is actually a bezel that can be removed using a plastic prying tool.

Underneath the bezel you will find four phillips screws that need to be removed.

Use a prying tool to separate the backplate from the front assembly.
Step 8
The back and the front will split up as shown in the image.
Step 9
Identify the battery connector shown in the image and unplug it.
Step 10
Remove the screw of the metal belt holding the battery in place.
Step 11
Remove the gps battery and replace it with the new one. Follow the steps in reverse order for reassembly.
