 | | Before you begin
Read the legal guidelines on this website. Place your Creative Zen Vision W on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools | | | Step 1 | | | Step 2 Remove the 2 screws next to the dock connector. | | | Step 3 Remove the 2 screws next to the power button and the volume buttons. | | | Step 4 Insert the opening tool between the screen and bezel. Avoid pushing on the screen, just pull the tool upward as you slide it along the edges of the the bezel. | | | Step 5 Slide the tool to the opposite edge of the bezel and pull the bezel upward to release it from the creative vision W body. | | | Step 6 Repeat the last steps and pull the safe open tool toward you. When the bezel comes loose you can lift it up as shown in the image. | | | Step 7 Keep the creative zen button pad aside and be sure not to lose the small blind. | | | Step 8 Use the small flathead to pry between the four clips holding the screen in place. | | | Step 9 When the frame clips are released the screen can be flipped forward. Do not pull the screen ribbon cables. | | | Step 10 On the right side you see the screen connector, the smaller ribbon cable on the left is for the backlight. | | | Step 11 Carefully open the screen connector latch. | | | Step 12 Push the right side of backlight connector latch in direction of the ribbon cable. | | | Step 13 Push the left side of backlight connector latch in direction of the ribbon cable. | | | Step 14 The ribbon cables will now come loose from the board. Install the new creative Zen Vision W screen and follow the steps in reverse order to complete the repair. |
