Remove the 2 screws next to the dock connector.
Step 3
Remove the 2 screws next to the power button and the volume buttons.
Step 4
Insert the opening tool between the screen and bezel. Avoid pushing on the screen, just pull the tool upward as you slide it along the edges of the the bezel.
Step 5
Slide the tool to the opposite edge of the bezel and pull the bezel upward to release it from the creative vision W body.
Step 6
Repeat the last steps and pull the safe open tool toward you. When the bezel comes loose you can lift it up as shown in the image.
Step 7
Keep the creative zen button pad aside and be sure not to lose the small blind.
Step 8
Use the small flathead to pry between the four clips holding the screen in place.
Step 9
When the frame clips are released the screen can be flipped forward. Do not pull the screen ribbon cables.
Step 10
On the right side you see the screen connector, the smaller ribbon cable on the left is for the backlight.
Step 11
Carefully open the screen connector latch.
Step 12
Push the right side of backlight connector latch in direction of the ribbon cable.
Step 13
Push the left side of backlight connector latch in direction of the ribbon cable.
Step 14
The ribbon cables will now come loose from the board. Install the new creative Zen Vision W screen and follow the steps in reverse order to complete the repair.
