Blackberry Pearl 8100 Repair Guide |

Before you begin
Read this website's Legal Guidelines and make sure you understand the risks of this repair. Place your Blackberry Pearl on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools.

Step 1
This is the pearl from the back.
|

|
Step 2
Another shot of the back of the pearl camera slightly tilted towards side.

Step 3
Take off the backplate that covers the battery by pressing the release button on the bottom of the pearl. After you take it off this is what your pearl will look like.
|

Step 4
Take the battery out of the pearl. This can be done by applying downward pressure from the top of the battery and pulling it away from the phone.
|
 |
|
Step 5
Taking out you SIM card involves unlocking the SIM card tray by shifting the metal piece on top of it to the left to unlock it then lift up to release the SIM.
|
 |
|
Step 6
Close the SIM card tray by putting metal flap down and towards the bottom of the pearl and then shift it up towards the top. |
 |

Step 7
Use a torx 5 screw to remove the two screws at the top of the pearl.
|
 |
|
Step 8
Once you remove both screws teh bottom of the phone has a protective clamp that holds that backplate and frontplate together. Use the green opening tool to create space below the plastic clamp and phone. Once you create some space you can push the clamp down towards the bottom to release it.

Step 9
This is what the phone looks like once the bottom plastic clamp is removed.

Step 10
Below the clamp are 2 more torx 5 screws that need to be removed.
|

Step 13
The next step is the side plastic pieces need to be removed. This is done easily using the green opening tool to create space between the silver plasic edging and the phone. Once there is space the edge pieces can be removed.

Step 12
The silver edge pieces should come off easily once you slide the green tool along the edge creating space between them and the phone. DO THE SAME FOR BOTH SIDES.

Step 15
Once the 2 silver edge pieces are removed the backplate can be seperated from the frontplate. There are some clips on the side that hold it in that can be unclipped using the flathead screwdriver. If you do that the backplate will come off much easier.

Step 16
This is what the pearl looks like after the backplate is removed.

Step 17
Once the backplate is removed the frontplate can be removed easily.
It basically can be pulled right off the Blackberry 8100 logic board.

Step 18
All that is left is the main logicboard. Here it is from the front with the Blackberry 8100 LCD on top and the keypad on bottom.

Step 19
This is the backside of the Blackberry 8100 logicboard with the processor, camera, integrated memory, camera etc.

Step 20
The Blackberry 8100 LCD screen can be removed by releasign the flap that holds the ribbon cable in on the frontside of the logic board.

Before you begin
Read this website's Legal Guidelines and make sure you understand the risks of this repair. Place your T-Mobile Sidekick 2008 on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools

Step 1
This is what the blackberry 8330 looks like from a birds eye view looking at the front of the device.
|

Step 2
Press the button on the back on the bottom to release the battery cover.
|
 |
|
Step 3
Remove the batttery by applying a little pressure downward towards the bottom and pull it out from the top to release the battery.
|
 |
|
Step 4
At the top of the 8330 there are 2 torque (4)screws that need to be removed.
|
 |
|
Step 5
Remove the torque screw as well on the other side. |
 |
|
Step 6
There is a plastic clip that needs to be removed in order to disassemble the blackberry. Use the Green opening tool to create space between the casing and the clip and with a downward motion remove it from the main casing. |
 |

Step 7
The clip can be removed from the phone.
|
 |
|
Step 8
Once the Clip and the 2 torque screws are removed you can loosen up the side plastic pieces towards the top so that you can remove the faceplate.
|

Step 9
This can be done using the green tool to create some space between the frontplate and the plastic side pieces towards the top of the phone.
|
 |
|
Step 10
Once you are in the green tool between the frontplate and the plastic side pieces you can then slide it along to release the latches that holding the blackberry together.
|
 |
|
Step 11
Once you have worked your way around with the green tool you can then remove the frontplate from the phone.
|
 |
|
Step 13
There are 4 torque screws that hold the keyboard and screen casing in place. Remove all 4 of them. Or in this case if you are doing the screen tecnically you only need to remove 2 of them.

Step 12
Once the screws are removed you can then take off the metal piece around the screen. There is a little latch on the top that holds it into place at the top so make sure you release that first so that it comes off easily.

Step 15
You can now see the ribbon cable that holds the LCD into place. This can be removed using the green opening tool by lifting the flap.
|
 |
|
Step 16
Once the flap is removed then using the green tool again to create space between the logic board and the LCD. The LCD and Logic board are connected by glue so be sure to remove it so the screen releases properly.

Step 17
Once all the glue is removed the LCD can be removed. The new LCD can now be put back in.
|
 |
|
Step 18
This is the logicboard with the LCD removed.

Before you begin
Read the legal information section and make sure you are qualified to attempt this repair. Place your Blackberry Javelin 8900 on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools

Turn your Blackberry Javelin 8900 on its front.
|
 |
|
Step 2
Remove the battery door and the battery.
|
 |
|
Step 3
Remove the screws under the battery compartment.
|
 |
|
Step 4
Remove the screws on top of the battery compartment.
|
 |
|
Step 5
Turn the Blackberry Javelin 8900 around and pry off the microphone cover at the top using a plastic opening tool. Remove any screws you find underneath.
|
 |
|
Step 6
Turn the Blackberry Javelin 8900 around again and remove the antenna cover using the spudger as shown in the image.
|
 |
|
Step 10
Remove the torx screws you find under the antenna cover.
|
 |
|
Step 13
Now the plastic frame should come loose from the Blackberry Javelin 8900 midboard.

Step 12
This is what it looks like when the frame is removed.

Step 15
Release the antenna cable from the Blackberry Javelin 8900 logic board.

Step 16
Release the Blackberry Javelin 8900 keyboard connector.
|

Now you can lift the logic board as shown in the image.

The keyboard becomes fully exposed.
|

Step 19
Release the Blackberry Javelin 8900 screen connector.
|
 |

Step 20
Now the Blackberry Javelin 8900 logic board is fully disconnected.

Step 21
This is what is looks like when the logic board is removed from the frontplate.

Step 23
Remove the midboard from the frontplate using the opening tool.
|

Step 24
Turn the midboard around. If you want to replace the Blackberry Javelin 8900 screen carefully release it from the midboard.

Step 25
The frontplate, midboard and logic board separated from each other. You can see the trackball in the center of the frontplate.
|
 |
|
Step 26
The Blackberry Javelin 8900 trackball is compatible with trackballs from other blackberries if you are indifferent about its color. Just take it out of the frontplate if it needs replacement.
You have fully disassembled your Blackberry Javelin 8900, for re-assembly follow the steps in reverse order.

Blackberry Bold 9000 Repair Guide |

Preparations
Please read the legal guidelines and familiarize yourself with the risks of this repair.
Place your Blackberry Bold on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools: Two plastic opening tools and a Torx T4 key.

Step 1
|

Step 2
The back of your Blackberry Bold is the battery door that needs to be removed first.
|
 |
|
Step 3
Push the battery door lock to release battery cover.
|
 |
|
Step 4
Take out the battery.
|
 |
|
Step 5
Remove the six Torx T4 screws around the edges of your Blackberry Bold.
|
 |
|
Step 6
This is what is looks like with the battery and the six screws removed. |

Step 7
Use the plastic opening tool to pry up the black plastic frame as shown in image.
|
 |
|
Step 8
Lift up the frame and set it aside.
|
 |
|
Step 9
This is what it looks like when the frame is removed.

Step 10
Use the plastic opening tool to pry up the Blackberry Bold logic board and release it from the frontplate.
The usb port and headphone jack will keep the logic board from coming loose from the front plate. Carefully move the logic board left and right as you try to pull it upward.

Step 11
Release the logic board from the front plate and set it aside.
|
 |
|
Step 12
The components you have disassembled so far.
|
 |
|
Step 13
Turn the logic board around so that the screen faces upward.
|
 |
|
Step 14
Carefully slide the plastic opening tool under the screen and pry the Blackberry Bold Screen loose from the logic board.
|
 |
|
Step 15
Slide the tool over the other side of the screen. Work with patience to avoid bending the screen.
When releasing the small screen connector on the other side of the board, be sure to keep flex cable from tearing. Be sure to work slowly, the paperthin material tears easily.
|
 |
|
Step 16
On the image you see the logic board after the Blackberry Bold screen has been removed.
|
 |
|
Step 18 (0ptional)
Pry op the metal casing holding the Blackberry Bold Trackball in place.
|
 |
|
Step 19
Flip the metal casing upward to expose the trackball.
|
 |
|
Step 20
Lift the Trackball out of the enclosure and set it aside.
|
 |
|
Step 21
|
 |
|
Step 22 (Optional)
The last step is to remove the keypad from the front plate.
|
 |
|
Step 23
Pry under the keypad to release from the frontplate.
|
 |
|
Step 24
Lift the keypad out of the frontplate and set it aside.
|
 |
|
Step 25
You fully disassembled your Blackberry Bold. For re-assembly follow the steps in reverse order.

| |  | | Before you begin Tools required: Torx T5 Torx T4 Safe Open Tool Set aside all neccesary tools and place your Blackberry Curve on a clean flat and soft surface. |  | | Step 1 Begin by removing the battery door. |  | | Step 2 Remove the two Torx T4 screws at the top and the T5 screw under the flash. One of the T4 screws is hidden under a white rectangular warranty seal. |  | | Step 3 Pry off the antenna cover at the bottom using the safe open tool. |  | | Step 4 This is what it looks like with the antenna cover removed. |  | | Step 5 Turn the device on its back and slide the safe open tool around the front plate. Gently pry to release the front plate from the glue between frontplate and the frame. |  | | Step 6 Slide the tool around to the top, at this point you should be able to lift off the front plate. |  | | Step 7 Remove the Torx T5 screws at the bottom of the screen and the bottom of the keyboard. Lift the Logic board off the frame. |  | | Step 8 Use the safe open tool to remove the screen from the logic board. Be careful since the screen can crack if you apply too much force. Pry gently in all corners. |  | | Step 9 Release the pressure fit connector of the screen ribbon cable, using the flathead screwdriver. |  | | Step 10 Now lift the screen off the logic board, you have fully disassembled your blackberry curve, for reassembly follow the steps in reverse order. | | | | |
