Blackberry Storm 9500 Repair Guide |

Before you begin
Read the legal information section and make sure you are qualified to attempt this repair. Place your Blackberry Storm 9500 on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools.

Turn your Blackberry Storm 9500 on its front.
|
 |
|
Step 2
Remove the battery door and the battery.
|
 |
|
Step 3
Remove the 2 screws under the battery compartment they are located right in the middle of the storm.
|
 |
|
Step 4
The second one is right below it.
|
 |
|
Step 5
Turn the Blackberry Storm 9500 around and pry off the microphone cover at the top using a plastic opening tool. Remove any screws you find underneath.
|

Step 6
Here are the torx screws below that need to be removed.
|
 |

Step 10
On the other end there is another panel that needs to be removed which is part of the camera.
|
 |
|
Step 13
Once the plastic piece is removed you can see another 2 torx screws.
|
 |

Step 12
These torx scres need to be removed.
|
 |

Step 15
Use the torx screw to remove the 2 screws.
|
 |

Step 16
Once all 6 torx screws are removed you can now use teh green tool to remove the top frame from the bottom frame.
|
 |

Step 17
Use the edge of the green tool to life the off the hooks that connect the top and bottom frames.
|
 |
|
Step 18
Once you have worked you way all the way around the device with the green tool you can then take the front button frame you can now completely remove it from the bottom.
|
 |

Step 19
You can now lift the screen using a flathead screwdriver.
|
 |
|
Step 20
Keep the screen right next to the logicboard so the cable does not tear. In order to detatch the screen you need to access the other side of the logicboard.
|

Step 21
This can be done by using a flathead and working your way around the logicboard so that it releases from the clips at its edges.
|

Step 23
The logicboard and screen are now removed from the back frame of the storm.
|
 |
|
Step 24
Flip the logicboard around so that it is sitting on top of the screen.
|
 |
|
Step 25
This ribbon cable connection can be removed using a flathead to gently seperate it from the logicboard.
|

Step 26

Step 27
A second ribbon cable can be disconnected. Again, use a flathead to gently remove the ribbon cable from the logicboard.

Step 28
The logicboard can now be completely removed from the LCD and the center frame.

Blackberry Bold 9000 Repair Guide |

Preparations
Please read the legal guidelines and familiarize yourself with the risks of this repair.
Place your Blackberry Bold on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools: Two plastic opening tools and a Torx T4 key.

Step 1

Step 2
The back of your Blackberry Bold is the battery door that needs to be removed first.
|
 |
|
Step 3
Push the battery door lock to release battery cover.
|
 |
|
Step 4
Take out the battery.
|
 |
|
Step 5
Remove the six Torx T4 screws around the edges of your Blackberry Bold.
|
 |
|
Step 6
This is what is looks like with the battery and the six screws removed. |

Step 7
Use the plastic opening tool to pry up the black plastic frame as shown in image.
|
 |

Step 8
Lift up the frame and set it aside.
|
 |
|
Step 9
This is what it looks like when the frame is removed.

Step 10
Use the plastic opening tool to pry up the Blackberry Bold logic board and release it from the frontplate.
The usb port and headphone jack will keep the logic board from coming loose from the front plate. Carefully move the logic board left and right as you try to pull it upward.

Step 11
Release the logic board from the front plate and set it aside.
|
 |
|
Step 12
The components you have disassembled so far.
|
 |
|
Step 13
Turn the logic board around so that the screen faces upward.
|
 |
|
Step 14
Carefully slide the plastic opening tool under the screen and pry the Blackberry Bold Screen loose from the logic board.
|
 |
|
Step 15
Slide the tool over the other side of the screen. Work with patience to avoid bending the screen.
When releasing the small screen connector on the other side of the board, be sure to keep flex cable from tearing. Be sure to work slowly, the paperthin material tears easily.

Step 16
On the image you see the logic board after the Blackberry Bold screen has been removed.
|
 |
|
Step 18 (0ptional)
Pry op the metal casing holding the Blackberry Bold Trackball in place.
|
 |
|
Step 19
Flip the metal casing upward to expose the trackball.
|
 |
|
Step 20
Lift the Trackball out of the enclosure and set it aside.
|
 |
|
Step 21
|
 |
|
Step 22 (Optional)
The last step is to remove the keypad from the front plate.
|
 |
|
Step 23
Pry under the keypad to release from the frontplate.
|
 |
|
Step 24
Lift the keypad out of the frontplate and set it aside.
|
 |
|
Step 25
You fully disassembled your Blackberry Bold. For re-assembly follow the steps in reverse order.

Before you begin
Read the legal information section and make sure you are qualified to attempt this repair. Place your Blackberry Javelin 8900 on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools

Turn your Blackberry Javelin 8900 on its front.
|
 |
|
Step 2
Remove the battery door and the battery.
|
 |
|
Step 3
Remove the screws under the battery compartment.
|
 |
|
Step 4
Remove the screws on top of the battery compartment.
|
 |
|
Step 5
Turn the Blackberry Javelin 8900 around and pry off the microphone cover at the top using a plastic opening tool. Remove any screws you find underneath.

|
Step 6
Turn the Blackberry Javelin 8900 around again and remove the antenna cover using the spudger as shown in the image.
|
 |
|
Step 10
Remove the torx screws you find under the antenna cover.
|
 |
|
Step 13
Now the plastic frame should come loose from the Blackberry Javelin 8900 midboard.

Step 12
This is what it looks like when the frame is removed.

Step 15
Release the antenna cable from the Blackberry Javelin 8900 logic board.

Step 16
Release the Blackberry Javelin 8900 keyboard connector.

Now you can lift the logic board as shown in the image.

Step 18
The keyboard becomes fully exposed.
|

Step 19
Release the Blackberry Javelin 8900 screen connector.
|
 |

Step 20
Now the Blackberry Javelin 8900 logic board is fully disconnected.
|

Step 21
This is what is looks like when the logic board is removed from the frontplate.

Step 23
Remove the midboard from the frontplate using the opening tool.
|

Step 24
Turn the midboard around. If you want to replace the Blackberry Javelin 8900 screen carefully release it from the midboard.

Step 25
The frontplate, midboard and logic board separated from each other. You can see the trackball in the center of the frontplate.
|
 |
|
Step 26
The Blackberry Javelin 8900 trackball is compatible with trackballs from other blackberries if you are indifferent about its color. Just take it out of the frontplate if it needs replacement.
You have fully disassembled your Blackberry Javelin 8900, for re-assembly follow the steps in reverse order.

| |  | | Before you begin Tools required: Torx T5 Torx T4 Safe Open Tool Set aside all neccesary tools and place your Blackberry Curve on a clean flat and soft surface. |  | | Step 1 Begin by removing the battery door. |  | | Step 2 Remove the two Torx T4 screws at the top and the T5 screw under the flash. One of the T4 screws is hidden under a white rectangular warranty seal. |  | | Step 3 Pry off the antenna cover at the bottom using the safe open tool. |  | | Step 4 This is what it looks like with the antenna cover removed. |  | | Step 5 Turn the device on its back and slide the safe open tool around the front plate. Gently pry to release the front plate from the glue between frontplate and the frame. |  | | Step 6 Slide the tool around to the top, at this point you should be able to lift off the front plate. |  | | Step 7 Remove the Torx T5 screws at the bottom of the screen and the bottom of the keyboard. Lift the Logic board off the frame. |  | | Step 8 Use the safe open tool to remove the screen from the logic board. Be careful since the screen can crack if you apply too much force. Pry gently in all corners. |  | | Step 9 Release the pressure fit connector of the screen ribbon cable, using the flathead screwdriver. |  | | Step 10 Now lift the screen off the logic board, you have fully disassembled your blackberry curve, for reassembly follow the steps in reverse order. | | | | |

Blackberry 8800 Repair Guide |

Before you begin
Read this website's Legal Guidelines and make sure you understand the risks of this repair. Place your Blackberry 8800 on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools

Step 1
This is the back of the blackberry 8800 with the battery cover removed.
|
 |
|
Step 2
There are 4 torx screws that need to be removed.
|
 |
|
Step 3
Behind the backplate there are 2 more torx screws that need to be removed.
|
 |
|
Step 4
Once the 4 screws are removed you can then remove the the back cover that covers the top of the phone. To do this lift up from the bottom and push the casing away and upward simultaneously to ease it ouf of the 2 latches holding it in from the top.
|

Step 5
Now the side plastic pieces can be removed from the device with the torque screws removed.
|
 |
|
Step 6
Remove the other side plastic piece just like the first one and flip your phone over and it will look like this. |
 |
|
Step 7
The bottom of the phone has a plastic clip that holds the backplate and frontplate together that needs to be removed.
|
 |
|
Step 8
This can be done by simply pulling on the plastic piece.
|
 |
|
Step 9
The wire that connects the antenna needs to be removed. It is delicate so do it with the little flathead screwdriver.
|
 |
|
Step 10
This is what the antenna cable looks like when it is disconnected.
|
 |
|
Step 11
Once the antenna cable is removed you can now seprate the 2 remaining pieces of casing apart. You can do this by using a flathead screw driver to go around the edge and undoing the snap together latches.

Step 13
This is the 8800 logicboard from the back.
|
 |
|
Step 12
The last thing connected to the 8800 logicboard is the LCD ribbon cable.
|
 |
|
Step 15
It needs to be disconnected with the flathead screwdriver so you do not pull it of the 8800 logicboard and break the cable.
|
 |
|
Step 16
Now it can be removed from the casing.
|
 |
|
Step 17
This is the 5pin USB connector that can become loose or broken due to everyday use of the phone.
|
