Read this website's Legal Guidelines and make sure you understand the risks of this repair. Place your Amazon Kindle DX on a clean flat and soft surface, such as a rubber mat or a piece of soft cloth and get the required opening tools.

Flip the Kindle DX so that you are looking at the back cover of the Kindle DX.
Step 3
Use the green tool to create some space between the plastic top piece and the large silver kindle DX back panel.
Step 4
There are 2 clips that need to be released that are holding the plastic top piece in place.
Step 5
When the 2 clips are released you will see some space between the plastic top piece and the silver bottom. At this point you can remove the plastic kindle DX antenna cover from the device.

Use a philips head screwdriver to remove the philips head screw below the antenna cover
Step 10
You can then slide the silver kindle DX back panel off by pushing it towards the bottom. Now you can see the battery, the 3G module and parts of the kindle dx motherboard.
Step 13
There are 2 philips screws that need to be removed to take out the kindle DX battery.
Step 12
Once the screws are removed you can use the green tool to lift it up and out of the casing.
