First of all try pressing down the reset button for 3 seconds, then connecting the Garmin GPS to a power source using the power cable.

If that fails, try the "master reset." With the unit off, press and hold the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Keep holding this and turn the unit on. Hold the corner down for 10 more seconds and the unit should ask for confirmation you want to wipe the data.
