I purchased what was supposed to be a Garmin 295 at an airport sale in California from a business which was closing. It came with no options, no manual, no box, no batteries or anything else. When I did install batteries at home and turned it on the screen came up saying Garmin Street Pilot. Even thought the front screen clearly is marked GPS 295 I could not return it since the company was closing and all sales were final. Is it possible to replace just the main board and front push button assembly? Garmin states they don't sell any parts and it's to old to mess with. Perhaps i could buy an old damaged 295 that is damaged or has a broken LCD? Otherwise this unit works fine. Is it possible to just do an upload of the Garmin 295 Firmware to my unit since this is very early technology and perhaps the fimware/ROM overwrite will fix it?
