what to do when the mirror of an SLR is stuck in upright position? I get error 99 when i turn on the camera, i'm sure it's caused by the mirror.

remove the lens, remove the screws that hold the metal ring in place, where the lens attaches. Remove the ring. remove the screws you find below. expose the mirror mechanism and push the mirror down and you turn the camera on. if the motor is stuck it may come loose now and you're good to go.
