ipod touch 2G backlight

Postby jxh1027 » Mon Oct 12, 2009 9:44 pm

Hi,
My iPod Touch was water damaged when I applied the protection film on it. I don't have the backlight now, but everything else work just normal! Do you think I can fix it if I replace the LCD?
Thanks!

Sometimes it's the screen, sometimes the logic board, sometimes just the screen connector. It's definitely worth looking inside and cleaning the screen connector, that may be all it needs. On which side did the water get into the ipod and how much?

Not trying to hijack the thread here, but what is the best way to clean the connector?

(I tried posting with a problem of my own (related to this) and it never showed up.) I've dissembled my iPod, I got water on the bottom inch, not submersed but up to about the screen connector. I've tried Q-tips with denatured alcohol, but the crevices are too small.
