Kindle 2 mini usb

Kindle 2 mini usb will charge but cannot transfer icon does not appear on kindle. perhaps a bad mini-usb? please advise

does the port seem loose when twisting inserted cable? otherwise most likely an electronics issue with the board. try different PCs too.
